Monument Universe - branded MonU - is an intuitively designed App thattakes its users on a virtual tour to the ‘most popular’ and ‘culturally rich’heritage sites and monuments in South India. While doing so, it educates them on the historical significance andarchitectural brilliance of these monuments with content that’s collated withutmost care and authenticated by qualified archeologists. And, it offers this content through sensitively made visuals that make theapp experience a highly entertaining and enjoyable one for its users. To help in easy consumption of this content, the app breaks it into threeparts:* An overview of the Era in which a monument (or a group ofmonuments) was constructed: o Kings who ruled the region during this period, their architecturaland religious inclinations and monuments they constructedduring this period* A broad sketch of the region (say Mahabalipuram or Kanchipuram)which are home to landmark monuments: o Reasons why these regions were selected by kings who ruledthem, list of all monuments that were built in this region anddetails of their accessibility from cities/airports close by* Micro details of a particular monument (say The Shore Temple ofMahabalipuram or Kailasanatha Temple of Kanchipuram): o Identifying all architectural aspects/components of themonument and discussing each of them under an appropriateheading, so users find it easy to understand the magnificence ofthe monument in smaller and easily relatable bitsTo help users easily navigate through the listed monuments, the app givesthem various approach options.* The landing screen shows all monuments covered in the app, with thelatest ones placed on top so users know the ones that got recentlyadded.* The region-wise search helps users locate monuments in a particularstate, more from the airport perspective so they can plan theiritinerary from either the place of their stay or from the airport that’s intheir vicinity.* The search tab helps them find monuments of their choice by anindependent search.
